The Morning Interview with Margaret Throsby
''Midday with Margaret Throsby'' (formerly ''The Margaret Throsby Interview'' and ''The Morning Interview with Margaret Throsby'') is an Australian Classical music show on ABC Classic FM, as well as on ABC Radio National network. The show, similar in format to Desert Island Discs,〔McCall Smith, Alexander (19 June 2005) (Desert Island indiscretions )〕 currently airs on weekdays at 12:05pm and has been hosted by Margaret Throsby for more than 15 years.
Guests come from a wide range of backgrounds; artists, writers, musicians, professors, philosophers. Visiting overseas experts in a wide variety of areas are also invited onto the programme. The focus of the show is what the subjects have to say, often on current affairs, and not all choose to play classical music - jazz, pop and rock are frequently chosen.
''The Margaret Throsby Show'' was broadcast on ABC's Radio 2BL from 1980s to 1990s.
